Has anyone else ever had their Profile player change on them? I went online to play a couple of games and when my player came up, he was totally different than what I had created. It was not one of the TW characters I have ever seen. The player did seem to have my attributes. I had to go offline 3 times and redo the appearance and add back all the gear he had before. For some reason the Wii wasn't saving the profile. Anyone else had this happen?

Actually Dude, i have had something similar to this happen to me a couple times. I had played several games, probably 20 or so, re-ping at least once or twice but did not reset my Wii at all. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe my previous round ended with a glitch of some sort, game started playing really slow on the last holes I think it was.
Well, when I fired up my next game I thought I had accidently picked some stock character that I couldn't remember. My power was normal and all ather attributes seemed to be as my profile golfer's. On the second hole I took a closer look and realized it was my profile golfer, my hat and shades were gone, my pants and shirt were different, my nose ring, ear ring and necklace were all gone to. Like you, my next thought was dang, now I have to go and figure out what I had on, and re-dress myself. The game played normal but I just looked like I was new out of the box again but I completed the match anyway. After exiting the game, I immediately shut down my Wii console and went searching for my last saved SD card. Then I returned with SD card in hand and fired my Wii back up and went into my career to see what had happened. To my relief, I was back to normal so all was good.
This did happen to me a second time a few weeks later with all the same conclusions. My thoughts on this are it is after several hours of playing and the Wii console needs to be re-set (re-booted). I would suggest not changing anything with your player until after you have re-set your Wii. I never went in to look at myself, just re-set, so I don't know if I would have been stripped of my items in my career before re-setting.
I would also like to make a simple comment to all DGA members in regards to saving your data on an SD card. I always overdo this kind stuff but I usually save my TW09 data to an SD card about once a month. Then I bring my SD card to my computer and save it in a sub-folder with that days date as the name of my folder. It could save you a lot of work having to take challenges over, re-purchasing items, selecting clubs, club tuning etc.. If you simply save your data now and then, it is not that time consuming and is well worth the trouble. In Dudes case, which could be slightly different than what happened to me. He could have simply restored his TW09 data from his SD card and all would be fixed. Hopefully you can still do this Dude1956.

I've played two practice rounds offline in the 'play now' mode using the Stock Golfer Nick Dougherty. Each time I have saved the settings prior to playing the practice round i.e. saved the stock player rather than my profile player. Next time I play on line and select my profile player I am given a strange Tiger Woods player. His face is black in patches (link he's wearing a mask) and his driver can only hit 230 yards!! If I return to the play now mode and over type with my profile player, then all returns to normal.
So my suggestion is when playing a practice round offline using a stock player remember to re save your profile before going back online.

There was a thread on this glitch on the EA boards several months ago, and I believe it's logged on Glen's bug list. The workaround was as legin described. Exit and resave your profile locally. Things will return to normal when you go back online.

I think EA should give all WiiGA members an advance copy of TW10 to test for a couple of months!

Hey guys. Thanks for the input. I do have the system set to autosave and have all games copied to the SD card. When I went into the "Appearance" section, I had to rebuild the appearance of the character and when I go to the Pro Shop, all my items still had a check mark but they were not showing on the profile. I had to uncheck and recheck them to have them appear. The character that appeared was not any of the ones found in the TW game itself. I was beginning to wonder if the EA servers switched my profile with an opponent, though I doubt that is possible. Fortunately, all the attributes and changes I had made were still intact and I was able to rebuild my Profile golfer. Just a pain having to go thru everything 3 times in one night.
Just one of those weird glitches in either the Wii system or the TW09 game itself I suspect.

I've had the situation legin described, with some weird Tiger Woods-y player with black skin patches all over his face, as if he had some weird birth marks or...you know...leprosy or something. In the couple times it has happened, I just quit the match before taking my tee shot, go offline, load up my profile character into some sort of match like a play now or a tiger challenge or something, exit and save, then go back online. That's fixed it each time.
