We've seen the plans for the new WiiGa in this post: Announcing the WiiGA! Before I respond, I am interested to hear the honest reaction of all the other members who have enjoyed competing in the old DGA. What do you think about the format and direction of the new league? Love it? Hate it? It doesn't matter? If you are a member, and read this post, please take a moment to leave your thoughts here. Write a lot, or just a few words. But please do respond. Words are important because polls serve no useful purpose, and do not reveal the person behind a vote. I look forward to all your responses.

I'm concerned about the stock profiles that we're required to use for the new season. I know it'll make the game more realistic and the competition more even, but let's be honest: it takes 2 days to max out your profile character; it's not that hard. I'm just concerned it'll take away some of the fun and feel we have in tweaking the clubs in our bag and practicing with them. This change has me worried.

Hey rizzo- give it a try today. When you log onto the EA site, instead of picking your usual persona, create a new one with no history. Then go into a Play Anyone match and pick one of the stock characters scheduled for this season. Vijay's a lot of fun, so's Natalie. I think you'll be surprised at how much fun it is to use your skills with TW to win with a stock character. In the meantime, remember, WiiGA tournaments work out to an average of two matches a week. And they're unranked, so they don't affect your position on the EA leader board.
Try it out and see if you have the same kind of experience I did. My test persona Giac2 is now 12-2. I beat someone last night ranked around 220 using John Daly.

Very nice, you guys have done a great job on this site. I hope everyone appreciates your hard work as much as I do. I like the layout you have created and have already posted a few things in the new Humor section.
The stock profile tourney's sounds like a fun thing. I would like to mention to those who have not fully built they're profile golfers that there is a way to speed up the process a bit. If you simply turn 'All Play' on while you play the challenges or PGA tour (works in both) then you get the lines so you never miss putts and make more Eagles than anyone should be allowed. Thus scoring many more skill points allowing you to build your profile golfer more quickly.
Although I didn't figure this out until my golfer was built, I did use the lines to build up a couple more profiles for my friends to use when they come over. It takes quite a bit of time to build your golfer, but it is worth it.
After you have completed about 50% of the challenges you should go to the PGA tour to build up your golfer faster than in the challenges, if you use the lines that is. Otherwise wait until you are at least at 8 or higher in your attributes for power if you want to win the PGA tour events.

when i first heard of the introduction of stock characters i was exited. however i did not expect the whole season to be in this format, the use of these at the total expense of profiles concerns me. like rizzo i like many enjoy using my profile golfer and feel this could discourage participation as much using them could encourage it. in my opinion (and it is only an opinion) i would prefer to see a season with a combination of these and maybe other pre determined differences like a high wind tournement in there ( i have recently been forced due to the lack of decent games online to participate in a few high wind games and surprisingly enjoyed the challenge.) otherwise everything on the site seems great. on the change to unranked for official games, this makes no difference to me, i am not concerned fo ranking and the intro of 2 lbs is great although i usually set my own targets score wise its still good to feel you are competing to an extent with others about you.

OK, I suppose I thought the 'Stock Golfer' tournament was to be a tourney of it's own and we would continue having our 'Profile Golfer' tourney's as well.
I enjoy playing my 'Profile Golfer' and feel it is 'Who I Am'. If there is no tournament for our 'Profile Golfer' then we will have to play as someone else rather than as ourselves.
The 'Stock Golfer' does sound fun, but not at the expense of losing myself in the process. I take a certain amount of pride in the 'Profile' I have created and definately want to compete with it as well.
I see no reason to limit what we can play in this League. I feel there are others who feel the same as I. Perhaps we could also try 'Teams' tournaments as well, for example: TheJokker & Tazz vs. snapjack & Twist, we would combine scores to determine the winner.
Perhaps we could still do our normal 'Profile Golfer' 10 event / 10 week tourney and also have some smaller 5 event / 5 week alternate tourney's. We could do 'Stock Golfer' tourney's, 'Teams' tourney's, 'Irons only' tourney's & perhaps even a 'Drivers & Woods' tourney (no Irons) where you have to lower the power of them to do short shots, still able to putt of course. Why have any limits? Have a variety of options to play. Granted someone has to talley the scores and update results and that does take they're time.
To finalize, I want to not lose our 'Profile Golfer' 10 event tourney's. Add more is fine though.
The purpose of using 'Stock Golfer' tourney's seems to be 'Level the Playing Field' for members who have not spent the time to build up they're 'Profile Golfer' allowing them to be able to compete. My opinion to this is 'LAZY', build up your 'Profile Golfer' if you want to compete with the best players in this game. I would never expect someone to play as a 'Stock Golfer' so that I could compete with them. There are plenty of tips about how to 'Tune your Clubs' and 'Choice of Clubs' and all other aspects of how to improve your 'Profile Golfer' so as to compete. I also want to see how well my 'Profile Golfer' can play against yours.

I am looking forward to the launch of the WiiGA and I am very grateful to all you admins for the amount of hard work that went into it.
As to the format, I must agree with the majority here. I don't mind playing "some" tourneys with the stock players, but not the whole season.
I joined the DGA because some of the best TW09 golfers are here and they have been more than happy to give me tips and share their knowledge to allow me to build up my Profile Golfer. I still don't match up to those of you at the top, but I am definitely more competitive than just a few short weeks ago. It doesn't really take that long to build up a profile to a competitive level. I am not going to beat the top players, but that is not why I play here. I play here for the fun of the game, which to me is enhanced by playing other DGA members who share the same enjoyment and who show good sportsmanship. No quitters here. My ranking here or online is far down my list of reasons for playing TW09. The game was developed to allow us to show "our persona". If we are using stock players for the entire season, I feel "Dude1956" will no longer be playing "Hoghead, Snapjack, NoChin, Jokker" or any of the other members. It will just be another online game.
I agree with Jokker that I would very much enjoy some variables thrown in for different tournaments. Team Play sounds like great fun. There have been many good ideas already put forth on here by many of the members and I am sure there are many more to come.
No matter what, I am looking forward to seeing the new site officially launched and playing under the WiiGA banner. See you all on the course.

Firstly, a big thank you to all the administrators involved in running Tour., 3 and creating the new site. You have done a great job and I have really enjoyed my first season.
Turning to the new format, I feel the founders have shown great courage in trying this new format. I understand members comments about building up skills etc, however when you walk out onto the fairway do you really feel challenged? You know that:- You can drive and land onto the green very close to the pin leaving a putt of up to 10 feet , score an eagle and move onto the next tee. You are all so good at this that each shot lands within a meter or two of where you expect. As a result games between the top players can be decided by the number of AHOs (see these stories all the time).
With the stock players you are going to be challenged, you are going to have to play the course and use more touch with your approach shots and really show your skills and develop and adjust to each new player.
I for one welcome the change and I know I will enjoy playing with you guys just as much as th previous tournament. I would not want to play every season using stock players and I have already seen a number of ideas for Wiiga season 2 such as Irons only or teams.
So come on guy, embrace these changes and put your skills to the test.

Perhaps some of you have realized that my little 'TheJokker R.I.P.' story was in fact a way for me to vent a bit in regards to my disappointment in regards to the elimination of my 'Profile Golfer' for tournament play. Tournament play was the main reason I joined the league in the first place, then I realized what a great bunch of dudes were here and you guys would not quit on me if I happen to get up by a stroke or two.
Well after taking the entire night off from golf and slamming down several flamers I have finally began my 10 step program for recovery. Step 1 - admit I have a problem, thats a tough one, I'm way to arrogant for this one to go down easy, I'm a Scorpio. Step 2 - Well, can't start this one until I complete Step 1.
OK, I'm calm now @!%&%&*%%@%&$&*, oops, relapse again. Well I think I'm back in control enough to try to admit that legin is probably correct in regards to how much fun it will actually be to level the playing feild for an entire season, the results could be very surprising.
My only concern is in regards to reviving TheJokker, he is officially dead for the tournament events. My best against your best seems to be in the backseat of the golf cart for now. I do take pride in my 'Profile Golfer', I have tweeked him this way and that way until I have created the player I want to be. If the league does not want to see how good I am compared to others who also take pride in they're creation, then why even log in as TheJokker, perhaps 'Muffler' would work for my new persona because I really feel that I can no longer run with open headers.
A memorial service will be held for TheJokker on Sunday April 12th on the first Tee of Wolf Creek in Nevada. Please bring several bottles of booze to soften the ground before digging, TheJokker would've liked that. And Buddah, it wasn't your fault, TheAngel will have to stand eye to eye with TheJokker someday and will have to try to explain to a higher power, the reasons for his quitting ways.
TheJokker prefered to stay casual, he wore the long sleeved white 'Fools Mock' shirt with the joker on the chest of course, then complimented the shirt with his white 'Tercel shorts' and and wore the white 'Flip-Flops'. He accented this attire with a styling white bucket hat, his white 'LH Sciflex' glove and his 'V.Cadence' dark lense shades. TheJokker had to have his yellow balls and would only play with the Diamond Series clubs. His power was only at 106% and the rest of his attributes were not as high as most players, but d**n he looked good.

That's the right attitude Legin. I'm glad someone gets it.
It's a game guys, I realize that people in general don't like to get outside their respective "comfort zones", but let's give it a try and see how we all like it. If it's a disaster, which it won't be, we can always change back. You know, change back to everyone whining about how the game is ruined by the 5 AHO's per game, and how it takes a 48 to win a match.
We aren't telling you to delete your "player profiles", we are just asking you all to experience something new, heck, you may even like it. Le't all keep an open mind and go into this next season with a positive attitude.

I guess it is my turn to add my .0002 cents worth (penny not worth what it used to be). Being fairly new to the league(Season III was my first)and getting beat down badly in a few matches, I still have enjoyed the experience. I have been recently laid off from my job and am searching for a new one. I probably will not be logged in as much as before, but I'll still be around to beat up on. I must say the new format looks interesting and I hope to be able to join in a few matches. I myself could care less what the format is. I'm here to play golf, meet some new friends, play some golf, have fun, meet some new friends, and finally PLAY GOLF. Behind hunting, playing golf is second on my list of activities I enjoy doing. I enjoy hunting and golf(real) because I am outdoors. When the weather is frightful outside, I enjoy being on the computer and playing golf(simulation). How I play or what I play doesn't matter to me. It's a game, just a game. Sure I like to win, but playing with friends and getting beat down once in awhile is good for me. If I won all the time, I would quit playing because of boredom. I look forward to the new format and hope that if there was a way to have both formats that maybe sometime in the future that could be possible. One way to look at it is the more options given to different players (skills and abilities) the more of them might join and become part of the WiiGA community. I can see this community grow to more than 100+ members. Again, I am just happy to be a part of it and look forward to more rounds of golf with everyone. OK, I am happy with all this and look forward to the WiiGA and all the options we might try. I am not as upset as it may seem, just trying to stir the pot a little and have some fun with it.
The first season is all about abilities (rather than who builds the fastest ride), that does sound fun and I am looking forward to it. I'm sure we will have plenty of opportunities to use our 'Profile Golfer' and I have no intentions to delete my persona or to create a new one named 'Muffler'. I will be able to rip down the fairways with 'Open Headers', just have to put the exhaust system back on when the cops are around. OK, not that funny, this will be fun.

I have been in the league since tourney2 in Season 1.Every season we have tried something new to the format. You will always have those who like it and those who do not.By nature I am a creature of habit but know also that change is good.I for one am looking forward to trying something different.I am also looking forward to being able to signup for the new league.Right now it won't let me sign up.I am talking about trying something different and I might not get that chance.O well I will keep trying.

hey wing,
I just got your email. I don't understand what is happening. I fixed the glitch and everyone else is able to sign up and reply so let's work through this thing together. I even tested it with a dummy name and it worked perfectly. We will get to the bottom of it. Let me know when you are available.
