Confirming the scores as well as my first round with Buddah: Rizzo: 61 Buddah: 62 Buddah had an unbelievable second round, the best round of NC golf I've ever seen. Rizzo: 60 Buddah: 54 Cookie: 69 Clay725: 67 Confirming scores... I couldn't stay out of the sandtraps or water on the first round. Rizzo hit it into the drink on 18 to give me an opening, but I just followed him into the drink as well. Second round was probably my best nc round. I was shooting for the pins and they were going in. Managed to stay outta the sand & water all together this round. Good Games All! Looking forward to match play ;D

Golf... One stroke you're a hero and the next you're a goat. I love this game.
Thanks to Jim and Twist for the rounds and hope to see you in the tournament... if not... next season. Thanks to the DGA and all concerned for a great season.

Thanks to Claude and Giacomo for 2 great exciting rounds. Claude owned the 1st round, leading throughout. Giacomo and I were tied through 15 when he took control.
The 2nd round was a nailbiter to the end. Each of us had at least one train wreck hole. Each of us had several clutch hole outs. All 3 of us had a shot at being low scorer going into the final hole. All in all, the most fun NC tourney rounds I've shot.
Verifying:
Giacomonc: 64 - 1st ClaudeRuffnc: 61 - 1st TwistovF8nc: 66 - 1st
Giacomonc: 69 - 2nd ClaudeRuffnc: 67 - 2nd TwistovF8nc: 68 - 2nd

I confirm both the scores, the fun, and the train wreck. Eighth hole: first, I tried to cut a corner- landed in the rough, under a tree. But I still had a shot at the pin. It would have taken a lot of care, but I could still pull out a par. Took the backswing- and all communications with the wii remote are lost. Couldn't believe it. Dead batteries. Which would be cause enough for violence, but in addition, I'd replaced the batteries before starting the match. Lost two strokes to timeouts getting and replacing batteries, and wound up with an 8 on the hole. Took another bogey on the next hole before I calmed down. I'm lucky I wound up under par. Oh well- there's always the next tournament! Thanks, guys, for two good rounds.

Wow... great round.

Hey giacomo (and admins)!
When somthing like that happens, that your wiimote run out of battery during play etc. Wouldn't rule # 22 apply?
I just thought I'd put the question out...

rule #22 would apply. I think giacomo intentionally let his batteries run down...................ok, I'm kidding. This has happened before and it is up to the player to make sure that the batteries are good enough to play the entire match. Now is that really possible to know if your batteries are going to give out? No Always be prepared with the battery situation. I keep an extra remote fully charged and untouched at all times. I can make a switch in about3-5 seconds. ;D

A couple of things: First, thanks for raising the question, Sindre. I really hadn't considered the application of the rule. Do I feel like I have the basis of an appeal? Maybe, but not really. Here's why: to avoid running out of power, I routinely change batteries prior to every DGA match. I think that's a reasonable enough precaution to consider what happened to me to be an unintentional glitch under Rule 22. However, in a fit of frugality, I had purchased off-brand alkaline batteries (Kirkland) instead of Energizers, which is what I usually buy. A week ago my step-daughter questioned whether or not they were any good when her remote quit during a game with her son. Since they had been in the remote for a while at that time, I didn't think much of it. Nonetheless, I thought twice about which batteries to put in- the 2 remaining Energizers I had on hand, or the Kirklands. After thinking about it, I put in the Kirklands. Big mistake, obviously... now! So, I don't know that I wouldn't like to replay from the 8th hole on- only who's to say that I'll play the back 9 as well as I did? Since I feel like I made a couple of judgment errors in selecting the batteries, I guess I don't think an appeal is necessary, though a ruling might be helpful for all of us. So- Hog/Buddah/Fred/Chromedog- is it sufficient to meet the conditions of Rule 22 to insert brand new batteries into the remote prior to the start of a match? Second, I've never been able to get the Wii to recognize the second remote after the batteries run out on the first. How do you do this?

hey giacomo,
This does come under rule 22 however the battery issue is a controlled glitch. Though unintentional, the battery "glitch" is a known condition of play. That's why it is really hard to classify as a glitch. Everyone knows the cause of a dead battery. It simply loses the chemical reaction that enables the flow of electrons thus your battery goes dead. A glitch in the game is unknown by definition as to where and when it will appear. You can certainly appeal it if you want. ;D
